I am frequently asked, "Why would a Tennessee man be interested in doing a heroic statue of Joan of Arc?"

The answer is clear: She was a Southern girl who resisted the Northern invader.

In doing Joan at the Stake, I felt it most appropriate that those who came to watch her burn and suffer should be included in the ritual. So I gave them a front seat in the fire.

Joan is still with us. The Church is still with us.
